Tips & tricks

Only use the MOM-audio mixer in the intended way!

To be able to fully enjoy your MOM-audio mixer, please take note of the following tips and tricks.

The following tips can help you if something does not work right away.

  • Set the volume of the output device to maximum.
  • Some consoles and headphones have their own volume control.
  • In almost all cases, the volume can also be adjusted in the game itself.
  • You can adjust the volume on the output device as well as the MOM-audio mixer.
  • Make sure that the MOM-audio mixer is charged or connected to the charging cable.
  • Should the output suddenly be very quiet, the battery is empty and should be connected to the charging cable.
  • You can also keep the audio mixer permantly connected to the power supply or USB port while using it.
  • Only use the included cables or make sure to use a cable of similar quality (4-pin, shielded). 2-pin and 3-pin cables impair the performance of the MOM-audio mixer which results in a quieter and lower quality playback.
  • Make sure that the devices are connected to the correct sockets of the MOM-audio mixer (see the backside of the MOM-audio mixer). The opposite sockets (left/right) have the same function
  • The LED on the MOM-audio mixer lights up red while it is being charged.
  • The LED on the MOM-audio mixer lights up green when it is fully charged.
  • The LED goes out, when the MOM-audio mixer is not connected to the charging cable.
  • When fully charged the battery lasts at least 8 hours at full power.
  • When fully depleted the battery takes 2 to 2.5 hours to fully charge (80% charged after only 30 minutes).
  • Approx. 2000 charging cycles are possible (Li-Ion battery).
  • Each time the audio mixer is reconnected to the charging plug, it is a new charging cycle.
  • If the MOM-audio mixer is operated permanently via the power supply unit, it is considered to be only one charging cycle.
  • The performance of the MOM-audio mixer in a charged state does not decrease, but remains constant. If the battery is depleted, you will only hear your sound very softly.
  • When you are not using the MOM-audio mixer, disconnect all connection cables (otherwise the battery will discharge even when not in use).

All audio and video sources with a 3.5mm jack output can be used. Only the audio signal will be transmitted, though.

Oculus Rift and Oculus Quest users will need to set the following configurations in the Oculus desktop app:
  • Open the Oculus desktop app from the start menu or a shortcut...
  • Navigate to: > Devices > Choose headset model
    • If you have installed multiple headsets via the app, this setting must be made separately for each headset.
    • > Disable "Listen to VR audio via computer"!
    • > Disable "Listen to computer audio in VR"!
    • These short and easily accessible settings are necessary so that the volume controls on the MOM audio mixer can be addressed separately.
These settings only need to be made once.
  • The MOM-audio mixer itself does not offer any Bluetooth support (except with the help of a Bluetooth adaptery which should be connected to the audio mixer).
  • Bluetooth headphones always have a time delay when receiving. For games in which the game sound is time-critically relevant, we therefore recommend using wired headphones.
  • Make sure that the MOM-audio mixer is (at least minimally) charged.
  • Connect the jack cable to the audio mixer first, and then to the smartphone.
  • Only then start the app that you want to use for the playback.
  • The cables included in the MOM-audio mixer set are shielded 4-pin cables.
  • For an optimal performance, we strongly recommend using these.
  • 2-pin cables decrease the performance of the MOM-audio mixer significantly.
  • Cables without shielding can cause interfering noise.
  • There are considerable quality differences among 4-pin cables as well.
  • Only use the included charging cable.
  • Should you use a different charging cable, make sure that it is a USB-C cable.
  • Charge or operate the MOM audio mixer at a PC USB interface or via a power adapter.
  • Depending on the power supply unit, the charging process may take longer.

Attention!

The MOM-audio mixer can also be used excellently as an amplifier. Use it when your audio sources are too quiet.

Should you amplify already loud playback sources, your headphones could overload and lose sound quality over time.

Warning:
Listening to sounds at a high volume can damage your hearing.
